Deserted Island: Kalanggaman Island, Leyte

One hour flight and four-hour UV express ride did not stop my friends and I to go to a not-so-secret place in Palompon, Leyte– Kalanggaman island.

It has been a month since my trip to this beautiful island but I can't stop talking about it to everybody. How lucky am I to get a chance to see this isolated place?

The boat ride was too scary. The one and a half hour travel time taught us how to call all the gods and goddesses haha! Kidding aside, it was very scary because the waves are too high and the boat seems like it can't pass through the waves but I'm happy it did because if not, I will not be able to write this post.

The nausea that we all got was worth it after seeing this beautiful place. It was a blue and green colored sea which made it so beautiful! I have never seen an island like this and I'm happy that the municipality of Palompon, Leyte is really taking care of this island.

Because the island was not fully developed and it is indeed a deserted island, there's no electricity and water supply there. It's a struggle if you're going to think of it but I think it was worth it. Also, no stores anywhere. So you must really buy everything you need before going there.

After fixing our things, we decided to walk and appreciate the beauty of Kalanggaman island. We took pictures, ofcourse. White sand, blue green sea and seashells along the bay. You'll surely have while walking along the beach.

My swimwear was appropriate with the color of the sea! I just had to sit there and appreciate the beauty of the island and somehow think about my life decisions.

There's also a rocky side in the island. It was full of hermits. Anyway, we took pictures again and appreciate how lucky and blessed we were to be able to experience this.

A cute spot for taking pictures! Haha this tree was able to provide a good shot for all of us.

After walking and taking pictures, we decided to go back to our tent do our session haha! It started raining around 7 PM. So we went to a nipa hut. We used it until morning. The island wasn't full of people that's why we were able to use the hut for free. We put our tent inside it and we slept like a baby.

We woke up at around 6 AM and decided to go for a swim but it was a bad idea because the water was very cold. Around 10 AM, our boat ride went back for us. We actually had time to talk to each other first before going back to the city.

This trip made us gain more information about each other. We got to know each other better which is nice, I think.

We went back to the city and that's another story to tell..

Oh the places that I will go to..
Blessed to see another tourist spot in the Philippines. More places to come! Lesson learned on this trip? Learn to appreciate the beauty of everything.

If you're planning to go to Kalanggaman island, go for it! You deserve to see and experience the beauty of this place.
